The Movie Had High Potential, So Where were the Shortcomings?
I will review and give information about the Kung Fu Panda 4 movie. The movie is a movie that cannot fully use its potential compared to the previous movies. The biggest problem was insufficient budget.
If more budget had been given, we could have heard the voices of the characters shown as cameos. Although the film had great potential, it could not fully utilize this potential.
About Villains and Voice Cast
There were no speaking enemies other than Tai Lung, the film’s antagonist. The voice cast of Kung Fu Panda consists of famous names.
For example, Kai is voiced by J.K. Simmons also voices Omniman. These actors may have to pay millions of dollars even to say two or three sentences. This was one of the biggest factors that wasted the film’s potential.
Main Enemy and His Motivation
The motivation of Kung Fu Panda 4’s archenemy, the Chameleon, seemed quite absurd. Chameleon wanted to become a Kung Fu master but was ostracized due to his size.
That’s why he has become a master of black magic and plans to possess the masters’ abilities by taking their chi. However, this motivation could have been written better.
Po and the New Dragon Warrior Zehn and My Rating for the Movie
There was no development period devoted to Po in the movie. Instead, the focus was on Zehn, who was chosen as the new dragon warrior. However, Zehn did not have any character development.
The character was a thief and betrayed Po. The fact that Po regretted it at the last moment and chose him as a dragon warrior stands out as a missing point in the story.
My personal rating for Kung Fu Panda 4: 7 out of 10
I gave this score because Kung Fu Panda is a good animated series.
